Thank you voting me to the position of Vice Commodore, I look forward to serving and appreciate your support. We are a volunteer force at Port Orchard Yacht Club and serving as an officer I have been able to meet and make friends with a great group of boaters. By serving I have been able to become an involved and active member of the Club. If you have ever given a thought about becoming more involved or if you are asked to I encourage you to say yes, it is a very rewarding thing to do besides being a wonderful way to meet new people and stretch who you are.
There is a big event coming up at our Club the night of September 23rd. This will be the Change of Watch, a dinner meeting catered by our local favorite Essence of the Thymes. Flyers and sign up sheets will be posted in the kiosk and the clubhouse. We will be needing volunteers to help set up on Sunday the 21st of September and on the evening of the 23rd to help do clean up after dinner. This will be your last opportunity to earn work party time this year since October begins our new year at the club. Please give me a call at 360-876-0176 to sign up to help or sign up on the posted sheets. You help is always greatly appreciated.
I have been asked to remind everyone again about keeping up you boat and boathouse insurance. Please consider having your insurance carrier send Port Orchard Yacht Club a notice that your insurance is up to date. This small act will save the Club the effort and funds needed to send out insurance notices and you won’t have to remember to send in the insurance papers, your insurance carries will do it for you.
I want to thank everyone who gave their time to help shine up the rental house. Thanks to the effort of Captain Phillips the house is rented and the renters will be moving in soon.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer and enjoying
the great cruising weather we have been having. It is great living in the
