Are you interested in becoming a member of POYC ?
REQUIREMENTS: You need to be a boat owner for active membership
*Apply for associate membership if you don’t own a boat.
Be 21 years of age and of good moral character
Be sponsored by a current member. (Call the Membership Chairman if you
don’t know a Member at this time.)
Our initiation fee is $2950.00 if you live in the Port Orchard area. More if you don't.
DUES: Quarterly dues are $70, no discount for prepaying. Currently there is an assessment of $33 per month for a moored member or $14 for a non moored member. This assessment is to retire some debt we have due to repairs/upgrading.
MOORAGE: There are three types of moorage at the club.
1) Side tie (finger pier) is $1.81 per foot per quarter. As an example I have a 45 foot side tie and my moorage cost is $81.45 per quarter. I have a 30 foot boat but you pay for the slip size not the boat.
2) Boat Houses are billed at 8.28 cents per sq. foot
3) Common Cover slips are billed at $414 per quarter
Electricity usage is billed at actual KW used.
WORK PARTIES: For maintenance and recreational support, we are a 100% volunteer club. You must work 8 to 16 hours per year or pay $50 per hour for the hours not worked. If you are moored at the club the requirement is 16 hours a year, 8 hours are required if you are not moored.
KEY RULES: Moorage is assigned by seniority. Depending on your boat, you can expect to qualify for moorage in about 12 months or less. You can sublet an available space and earn additional seniority credits. There are commercial marinas in the area where you could keep your boat while waiting for club moorage.
SOCIAL EVENTS: We have many club-sponsored events on and off the water. Participation is encouraged, always enjoyable but not mandatory. Social events range from weekend excursions to races to crab and steak feeds to formal and informal parties.
FIRST STEP: Please email MEMBERSHIP@poyc.org or call with any additional questions.
