The days are longer now and its time for Friday night sailboat racing.  Our Spring Friday Evening Series starts April 23. The start each Friday is at six o'clock off of the West breakwater with a two hour time limit. Jerry Hackett will be the committee with help the first couple weeks from Glenn Collins. The series goes five weeks till May 21 and Jerry could still use help for the last few weeks. We are continuing our tradition of a potluck on the breakwater after the races. Bring something to share and we'll all get together and check the results.  This has been a fun and growing informal series. It's a great way to get an introduction to sail racing and to try your sail trim against the other boats.  I know you always do that anyway, but in a race you can't sneak up on the other guy like you usually do.  These spring races give you a chance to tune the boat up for the season.

The West Sound Sailing Association Series continues with the Rich Passage Ramble from the downtown Port Orchard Marina on April 3. This one goes out around Blake Island so you work through Rich Passage both directions.  The Poulsbo race follows on April 24. See the WSSA website at www.wscyc.net/wssa for more information.  Thanks to Mark Anderson and Glenn Collins for doing committee duty for our Spring Shakedown race.

See you on the water,
